The Traditional Medicine of North Thailand

Even today, Traditional Medicine in Northern Thailand and flourishing roots back to his years be many hundreds.

In northern Thailand, the art of healing, the student is denied the by traditional healers, from his mouth. There is no formal training institutions, the art of traditional medicine to learn. Traditional medicine is popular in rural areas and villages in northern Thailand.

North Thailand is home to many hill tribes and allthese tribes follow practices of traditional medicine. Each hill tribe has its own traditional medicine although there is a commonality between the practices.

Mor Muang is the term used to describe the local doctor, and it covers the various specialties of traditional medicine. Traditional Medicine in Thailand is generally a male tradition, and outsiders have accepted to be the masters. They also happen to an inauguration before they accept in a giventraditional medicine discipline. Most doctors are skilled in various aspects of local traditional medicine, but they usually practice a particular specialty. The specialties of traditional medicine are herbal medicine, spiritual healing and bone blow.

A herbalist usually covers the entire spectrum of diseases and drugs, he formulated from herbs and other natural ingredients.

A bone blower is the one who specializes in wounds and bone fractures. It is his responsibility,Repair of fractures and wounds by applying sheets or envelopes and then blowing and singing incantations to the affected area.

A spiritual healer leads ceremonies and chants incantations to call to the person's spiritual essence to heal and then connect to the patient's spiritual leader and heal him.
